Skin Care Tips For Sensitive Skin

The season is changing from winter to spring. The unstable weather, dryness and radiation in spring cause sensitive skin to be more problematic. It is advised by skin care professionals that people with sensitive skin should focus their skin care procedures on moisturizing and sun-blocking and use less cosmetic products. People with sensitive skin should apply toner to face after cleansing. Toner helps moisten and soothe your skin. Some of the toners can also help tighten your pores. The toners available in the market usually contain preservatives and additives. You can make yourself a natural toner with the following recipe. The first one is aloe vera toner. Aloe vera extract is used by many products because of its excellent moisturizing and soothing functions. This toner is very easy to make. You only need a piece of aloe vera and 5 ml of glycerin. Extract the juice from the aloe vera with a juicer. Then mix the aloe vera juice with the glycerin to form the natural toner. Pour the natural toner into a small spray bottle so that you can carry with you all the time. Spray the toner onto your face when you feel dry for your skin. Other than aloe vera toner, you can also try rose water. Rose water is also easy to make but it is a bit more difficult compared to the aloe vera one. You have to prepare 3 tea spoons dried rose petal, 10ml glycerin and 100ml distilled water as ingredients. Heat the distilled water. Add the dried rose petal to the boiling water and keep heating for 3 to 5 minutes. Allow the solution to cool down. Finally, mix the rose water with the glycerin. The usage is the same as the aloe vera toner. Just apply the rose water to your face whenever you feel needed. Moisturizing alone is inadequate. To have healthy skin, you also need to do a good job on sun blocking. The UV light from the sun is extremely damaging to (sensitive) skin. Over exposure under the sun causes your skin to be dry, dark, inelastic and sensitive. A good choice of sun block is very important to people with sensitive skin. Therefore you should pay more attention when buying one for yourself. The golden rule for picking the right sun block is to choose those are specifically formulated for sensitive skin. You can see if the sun block is allergy tested, fragrance free and with Zinc Oxide. To safeguard your extremely sensitive skin, you are advised to test with a little amount of sun block on the inside of your arm or behind your ear. If no allergy is noticed after 24 hours, you can use the sun block. Other than sun block, you can choose to wear a cap or bring an umbrella with you during the sunny day. When you pick your umbrella, remember to choose a UV blocking one. Learn more about beauty and makeup, visit: applying false eyelashes eyelashes extension

What is the Cause of Acne

In case you are affected with acne, it is best to find out what's behind it, so that you can find a meaningful and enduring solution to it. In trying to get information on the causes of acne and the potential cures, you have to be more cautious about where you go and what information you get there, so that you will not be confused or misled. You may have been wondering what are the causes of acne and probably have not been able to find any meaningful solution to this big mystery. Well, here's the true revelation of the cause of this skin disease. Acne is a disorder of the pilosebaceous unit; this unit comprises of the hair follicle, the hair and the sebaceous gland. Apart from few parts of the body, the elements of the pilosebaceous unit are found at every other part of the body. The exceptions are the soles of the feet, the palms, the lower lip and the top of the feet. The pilosebaceous unit components tend to be more on particular areas of your body compared to others; those parts are the face, the chest and the upper neck. The substance which is responsible for the moisturizing of your skin and hair is produced by the sebaceous glands; this substance is called sebum. The sebaceous gland gets larger in adolescence, thus producing more sebum. The production of more sebum by the sebaceous gland during adolescence is greatly influenced by certain hormones referred to as the androgens. However, the production of sebum gets smaller again after the teenage years. So, how does acne develop from the processes described? The Reality about Cause of Acne Acne is not caused by a single factor; there are many factors that influence the birth of this skin condition. The sad part of all this is that most of these factors are beyond your control. As noted previously, the rate of sebum generation is impacted by hormone balance which varies constantly. There's additionally the role of genetics in the development of acne and its resistant to a number of treatments. In essence, your family history can also be pointed at when asking how this skin condition came to be. The Major Influencing Factors in Acne Formation Acne is traceable to some big factors which include; Hormones Most people plagued with acne can have their problems traced to puberty years, the period in which the androgens hormones are produced. The enlargement of the sebaceous glands by the androgens is something that occurs naturally. However, there is overstimulation of the sebaceous gland by androgens in those plagued with acne. In some individuals, this overstimulation extends to their adulthood. Follicle Shedding Naturally, the dead cells found within the follicle falls out slowly onto the surface of the skin. However, the sebaceous glands are overactive in certain individuals and almost in every person during puberty. This results in an increased shedding of the dead cells. When the dead skin cell combines with excess of sebum, a plug is formed in the follicle, interrupting the completion of the skin's natural renewal process. This also results to acne. In addition to the elements listed above, a specific bacteria named bacterium Propionibacterium acnes, is also responsible for this skin condition. Now that you know the cause(s) of acne, it will be much easier to know what treatments to seek. Click the link to find out more about the causes of acne. Healthy Ideas For Making Your Own Wrinkle Cream

March 29, 2010 by Kathy Meyer · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Skin Care

Women with sensitive skin often have trouble finding skin care products that can also be used as a wrinkle remedy. The chemicals and exfoliants used in wrinkle creams can be too harsh for some skin types. As an alternative, these women look to natural, plant based products that plump up the skin and smooth away those unsightly lines and discolorations. You can even make a wrinkle cream using common ingredients from your kitchen. In this article, we'll talk about some of the natural ingredients that can be substituted for an over-the-counter, anti aging wrinkle cream. One of the most common problems women complain about is crow's feet. To treat the delicate, sensitive skin around the eyes, it's best to use an oil instead of a cream because it is absorbed more easily. A natural, anti-wrinkle remedy can be made using jojoba oil, evening primrose oil and carrot seed essential oil. Jojoba oil is very similar to the natural oils found in your skin, while evening primrose oil is a rich source of gamma linolenic acid (GLA.) Natural anti wrinkle creams contain oils, botanical extracts and other naturally derived compounds to rejuvenate and restore damaged and dry skin. Evening primrose oil contains minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids that moisturize dry, mature and sensitive skin, and helps the skin cells to regenerate. Carrot seed essential oil is believed to encourage skin cells to rejuvenate themselves. To make the emulsion, combine 1 ounce of jojoba oil, one capsule of evening primrose oil and 10 drops of carrot seed essential oil into a bottle and shake well. Keep your wrinkle cream oil stored in a cool, dark place and it should stay fresh for about 6 months. For a nourishing facial, open up a jar of honey. Start by placing a warm, wet cloth on your face to open your pores. Smooth some honey over the skin and let it sit for about thirty minutes. Rinse with warm water followed by cold water to close your pores. Active Manuka Honey is considered to be the most effective honey for this wrinkle treatment. Research has demonstrated that it promotes cell repair and aids in the production of collagen, the substance which gives your skin elasticity. There are a number of other natural products that you might like to try. Shea butter is a natural skin moisturizer that's great for preventing wrinkles from forming. It's also effective at healing skin that's been damaged by the sun. Lavender essential oil is thought to work as a detoxifier that purifies your skin and helps it to renew itself. As a bonus the refreshing scent of lavender has a curative, relaxing effect. Green and black tea extracts also have antioxidant qualities that neutralize free radicals, which can dull the skin. Instead of buying yet another expensive cream to minimize wrinkles that will end up sitting in your medicine cabinet, head to your local produce market and pick up some all natural ingredients for a do-it-yourself treatment for wrinkles. Your wrinkle cream can include ingredients like antioxidant rich berries, soothing cucumber, healing honey and nourishing apricots. These ingredients contain the vitamins and antioxidants needed to keep your skin nourished and supple, but the creams can be made for a fraction of the price of a drug store wrinkle removal cream. As a bonus, you'll savor the wonderful, natural smells that no store-bought cream can duplicate. Aging is a part of life. And with age comes skin wrinkles. Your skin loses its elasticity and begins to develop those fine lines around your eyes, nose and mouth. But you can fight back. Green Tea – Skin Tea That Can Improve Your Skins Healthy Glow

Green Tea holds multiple properties that can improve the health of your skin. The main antioxidant found in this skin tea that can enhance your skins appearance and overall health is EGCG, Epigallocatechin Gallate in scientific terms. Keep reading to learn some extremely interesting facts about how Green Tea can prolong your skins life span…. A two year study that was done by Stanford University exposed recently showed the following – An assembly of volunteer Green Tea drinkers were observed and a number of exciting results were publicized. The antioxidants in the skin tea, mainly EGCG, showed enhanced health of the skin overall. The particulars being, smoother skin and reduced pore size. Skin damage (age spots) appearance was reduced considerably. Emergence of the 'red vein' look was reduced on the skins surface. Consider that your skins life cycle is that of 28 days, when new cells are formed from stem cells, it takes them about 20 days to travel to the very surface of the epidermis (outer layer of skin). When they reach the surface they are then ready to die off. However it materialized that EGCG reacted with these dying cells and they began dividing and renewing themselves again. So if dying skin cells can be re-energised, then the skin in turn will improve in condition and will naturally look and feel transformed. Another study carried out, this time by Harvard Medical School confirmed that "in test tubes, catechins (antioxidants) are more powerful than Vitamin C and E in delaying oxidative damage to cell". In reality, EGCG catechins are 100 times more valuable than Vitamin C and 25 more efficient than Vitamin E. UV radiation is a massive snag for the skins ageing. When UV rays reach the skin, Free Radicals are then activated. These free radicals are electrons that are in an unpaired state. Because of this they then look for for electrons that they can pair up with.In doing this they are capable of attaching to healthy electrons, and because they are unhealthy themselves they spoil the healthy electron they have become attached to. With reference to the skins ageing, the skins healthy cells are damaged and extinguished by these Free Radicals. This causes the skins cells to either become so damaged that they cannot divide and supply new cells, or they are destroyed completely before their life term should end. This is how sun damage has the effect it has and why your skin can look older and more ragged than it should. The good news is that EGCG can wipe out the Free Radical electrons, it does not allow them to attach to healthy cells. Thus, it can prevent sun damage. In saying that, this does not mean it is safe to lie under the sun as long as you like and think that a cup of Green Tea will save your skin, however it does mean that for those rays that get through your sun lotion, most of them will be destroyed before they can do any damage. So you can see how Green Tea can compliment your sun protective routine and help keep your skin looking as young and healthy as it should. Considering that 90% of ALL skins anti ageing is due to UV radiation, I would be quite excited about introducing Green Tea into my diet, for that and the many other reasons as above. If you are as excited as I am about the wonders that this skin tea can do to both maintain and enhance your skins youth and health, then do follow the link to find out so much more. This miracle natural plant can give new life and vitality to you both physically and mentally, the more you learn about it, the more it can do for you… http://www.how-to-make-green-tea.com

Acne is a skin disorder which affects girls two to three years earlier than boys but there is no gender bias for this disorder and it affects almost every teenager in one form or the other. Acne has other names too which are pimples, blemishes and zits. It is estimated that 30% of teenagers suffer severe acne warranting medical intervention. It is the single most common skin disease affecting mostly teenagers but it can affect anybody in any age group. Acne scars and blemishes can have a devastating effect on the person's life causing depression and low self esteem there by lowering the quality of life. Acne sufferers are more prone to suicidal impulses due to stress and depression. Fortunately, majority of acne cases are mild in nature and responds to medication and vanish after some time. But for some, acne is severe with wave after wave of lesions which are disfiguring and causes anxiety and stress which aggravate the situation further. To keep the skin healthy there are oil secreting glands called sebaceous glands situated under hair root follicles of the skin that produce a thick wax like oil. This oil is called sebum. This excess production of thick wax like oil blocks the hair pores and creates a perfect breeding ground for acne bacteria. Sometimes these glands produce more oil than necessary due to hormone fluctuations in the body and also due to other factors. There are about four important factors that contribute to the development of acne. They are production of excess sebum by the sebaceous glands, blockage to the outflow of sebum at the mouth of hair root canal, inflammation of follicles due to the blockage, and infection and proliferation of bacteria 'P.acne' in the trapped sebum and hair root canal. Acne is the resulting condition of many interacting processes. Acne sufferers have a higher rate of sebum production than non-sufferers. The sebaceous glands are stimulated to produce more sebum by the increased circulation of hormone androgen, the production of which is high during puberty. Because of this increased sebum production, the micro organism population residing and thriving in the sebum(their main source of food)explodes. These organisms are acne bacteria, staphylococcus and some yeast like micro-organisms. This population explosion of these microorganisms causes infection resulting in acne.
